Love my carhartt bibs. I've always wore carhartt brand bibs. This was the first time buying them online as my size is very hard to find locally. They arrived and I was super excitied to try them out as it's winter and my garage is my hang out and it gets a bit nippy rolling around on a creeper on the cold concrete floor. Upon opening my package I see a tag on the straps that says order your actual jean size. I never saw anything online explaining this, but had I might have ordered my pant size, but probably not as I tend to buy on the large size because I figure I'll grow into it if its too big. So i ordered up as size as I always do when I buy bibs. I wear a 36x36 jean and could probably wear a 34x36 but like looser fitting clothes so I wear 36's with a belt. So I ordered 38x36 bibs. Well they were definitely on the larger end of the sizing spectrum. But these were uninsulated so I knew I'd be wearing a hoodie under them outside so I decided to give them a try. After wearing them for a little bit I decided they were a little too big but really didn't want to go through the wait of getting another pair shipped to me so I decided to wash them and dry them to see if they'd shrink a little. Well that was all they needed, after the wash they fit great. Still a little big but would much rather have a little extra room than be bound up in tight overalls. Thanks carhartt for the great product you continue to provide!
Ordered these on Feb 8th, arrived on the 10th, which was nice. After wearing these all day, they were very comfortable, and kept me warm with my jeans underneath them. While the zipper can serve more than one function, it works extremely well for getting them off and on over boots. Onto the downsides; The shoulder straps are way too long. I wear a 30 inseam normally, and got a 30 on these since it was as small as it went but the shoulder straps are too large so I taped them so they were shorter. After taping them, these fit very nice, and I definitely like them. The zippered pocket on the chest can be used for a phone, wallet, or other sensitive items. Wearing these with my Carhartt Original fit midweight hoodie they kept me very warm, and I started to sweat in 20? snowing weather while shoveling and breaking up ice. I would definitely recommend these for year-round use, just order a size or 2 bigger for the waist, and a size shorter for the length.
These are awesome. Just my second pair with the zippers on the side but they are a game changer. Easily slide your boots in and out with no hassle. I do wish they had more color options for these ones like they do the starndars (non zips) overalls.
I love the overalls I just wish you guys still made the ones with the carpenter bags in front. I just stop buying Carhart overalls and switched over to Ben Davis since they have overalls with Carpenter bags. ( why would you do something like that )Sorry . Let me know when you guys start Making overalls with Carpenter bags, so I can start buying Carhartt again.
I have worn Carhartt overalls for many years. I bought two pairs of these early this year to wear in a plywood mill while threading and installing rigid conduit. The chest pocket zipper on both pairs is broken, a few of the leg flap snaps on each pair are broken and this morning, while I was getting dressed at home to go work outside, one of the leg zipper pulls broke off. I have pairs that are many years older with all the zippers intact and still working that just have too many holes and are shredded. These last two pairs are a huge disappointment. Why cheap out on zippers and snaps?
This is a great pair of overalls. I'd always been hesitant to get carhartt due to the price. I know that carhartt is quality but the price made it hard to ever commit. I decided to get a pair for working and they fit well. They are strong and durable while allowing me to freely move as well. The pockets are large enough to let he hold anything I need and they come with hammer loops. I would highly recommend.
I just received a new pair of the bib overalls. I am very disappointed at the re-design with the pockets. What makes me almost mad about this is I wear these daily in construction. My last pair had a deeper front pocket that was able to be used. This pair has such a shallow pocket a tape measure wont stay. Please Carhartt understand this was a mistake on your part and change it. I will look at the other brands and find one with better side pencil pockets and a better front pocket design. Im amazed. It's like they are so shallow it was a mistake. Please let the construction industry know when you fix this problem.
So far I like these bibs. This fall I started wearing my insulated bibs more often for working around the house and yard, so I thought I'd like to have some uninsulated bibs for doing the same when the weather warms up some.I started with the 36 x 34s for size. I thought the waist was a good fit, but the length was longer than I wanted even with the straps shortened all the way up. I exchanged for 36 x 32s and after a wash, these fit me well. They're maybe a little baggier than I'd like, but it gives me some room to layer up underneath as needed. I'm 6' 2" 185 lbs. and usually wear a 32 or 33 waist and 34 inseam. I bought some knee pads and inserted them in the double knees. I haven't had many opportunities to put those to work, but so far they seem fine. The way the pant legs are constructed, the knee pads seem to want to shift off to the "inside" of my knees, but it's not a huge deal. I can shift the pads to the outside of my knees if I'm going to be on them for a while.
Bought two of the Duck Zip to Thigh unlined to roll in with my aging overalls. Pulled out the second one a little while back and blew a seam around the pocket after three washed. After looking closer it looks as though it had been double stitched from the factory to try and repair the area but it just didn't hold. The first pair is great but the second pair is unrepairable and was waste of money. Wish I would have used that pair much earlier so that I could have potentially gotten a swap out.
These unlined zip-to-the-knee overalls meet my expectations for a top quality product. As found before, the suspender fasteners are difficult to hook/unhook. They are definitely sized larger. I would recommend to others.
Already have the unlined without the zipper on the legs. Sometimes you need to be able to take them off without removing your boots. Had to go to a brick and mortar store to try them on as ordering one size up online did not work out. Great bibs though and really like the big zipper pocket on the chest.
This is my third pair of these. I have a black pair and bought these to replace an old brown pair. I wear a 34/32 in all my previous pairs, however when I received these, they are marked 34/32 but are 4" longer than my other pairs in the legs and the crotch. I am not sure if they were miss labeled or just defective. However doesn't appear I am the only one with this type issue. Seems like Carhartt would do better QAing their products. I was advised to send these back and order a new pair, in the same size.
As always a great product from Carhartt!! My hubby loves his overalls with the zippered kangaroo pocket (his words) He works road construction all summer and they hold up better than any other work clothing he has tried. And even when they are looking shredded he cant let them go he will bring them home and keep them in his shop to use until they fall completely apart he has been a Carhartt lover for over 30 years and will continue to be as long as they keep producing
I have two pair of these, lined, size 44W 30L and 32L. They both have room to spare over jeans, size 38W. Just received an un-lined, zip to the thigh pair of Carhart overalls and they are tight on me with the top buttons on either side buttoned. WhetherI received a pair that was incorrectly sized I do not know but the new pair is at least two inches narrower than either of the older pair. And I get to pay shipping for the return on Amazon.
Love the zippered leg. Much easier to get on and off. Can't find unlined zipper leg in stores. They are great around the farm. The only improvement I would like to see is zippered front like the insulated. Thanks Carhart
My husband has been thru maybe 10 pair of these coveralls in the past 15 years or so. They save his clothes, are warm without being restricting or heavy when working on the farm. He recommends every working man get a pair and try them out. The pockets and zippered leg openings and the best feature.
I think this is a great item for those who would use them as overalls, they would allow you to put them on without removing your shoes. I will be wearing RO1 as my first an only layer of clothes. So the Ankle to thigh leg zippers are not something I would normally use. But I think they are a great idea how convenient!
I like these overalls. They have added snaps to help protect/reinforce the zippers on the legs.I minor, perhaps quality control issue, is where the shoulder straps connects to the bib, the clearance for the metal clasp to pass through is really small, so it takes a little bit of effort. On a pair that I bought years ago, the metal clasp passes effortlessly.Overall, no pun intended, I really like them.Ben
Bought a pair of the Duck zip-to-thigh bib overalls/unlined, in black, for my son for Christmas. He is very pleased with them. Carhartt is the most purchased brand for work and casual clothes that my son has been using for the last 25 plus years. The bibs are his most favorite. He wears other Carhartt items; jackets, shirts, hats, etc., as well as most of his work buddies do, too. Thanks for making this reliable product for all work and casual uses. 2b1af7f3a8
