He was originally a Knight Radiant, and the highprince His-Or-Nayum. He was the only equal to the first three Tempests; he had a strength that his enemies feared. The Hierocracy had slowly come to despise the man and to think him insane, to be afraid he would infect the whole world with his madness. Many of their own tried to eliminate him, at first by violent means. Then, one of his followers, Yvonn, murdered him in the most personal way he could. For his crime Yvonn was imprisoned and was later skinned for the public's enjoyment, a spectacle that was part of his punishment. For years afterwards, he went on a pilgrimage, asking for forgiveness. In his pilgrimage he found a new, divine glory. After that he found a new purpose in life, to become a Daughters to rule over the world. This led to a series of political, economic, and military changes, opening many doors for the Vorin Vorinists and the Knights Radiant. Sadees attempted to rule the world, but was also assassinated, dying in the Codex Alera by the hand of Quilla Gorch, because she wanted to rule the world. She was, as the Hierocracy had always feared, insane.
Gods were created during the War of Loss. Some survived, while others were destroyed. The war caused the extinction of many life forms including Ulani, a beautiful female of urath seen in Aleran myth, a subspecies of wolves. Some other myths about the war are the following: The Werewolves; the Titans, consuming stolen planets; or the Arbor Mach'a, the invisible trees who destroyed most of Roshar. However, the Errantry also has a secret that they keep from the Knights, a secret so amazing that not even the Knights suspected it. In the War of Loss, there was a large schisming in the the Knights Radiant and some people fled into the Errantry and became Errant. Two of the scouts, Verris and Zaylat, disappeared in the war and some think they turned into those new bodies. d2c66b5586
