Expand: Expand mode for the top band is selected. One of the features of Multiband Dyanmic processing is the ability to \"self-adjust\" the level of the band. Fixed Gain is set to +5 for this band. The Expander is also set to \"High\" and a threshold of -4 db. The Threshold for this band is set to -4 db.
Scenario: A performer is playing on a guitar and vocal with his microphone in the speaker cage. While they are compressing the vocal in the mix, drummer is hitting on the kick drum. There are four vocal changes over the course of the song, starting with a single voiced singer, then 2 males and a female (roughly 1:2:1:1:1). Each new voice provides a different taste for the mix. The compression can be switched on and off temporarily during each voice change (inter-band dynamics)
In Normal mode, the Ratio can be set to values between 0 and 1. Such Normalization is a preset setting in the device, and will automatically adjust the gain of the input material to maintain a constant output level. (Dynamics processing does not affect this Normalization.) With this setting, there are 10 different types of dynamics processing.
Digital Collective puts out a lot of very interesting and usable plugins - and in a format that you too can download and use. So check out the Mulithand Dynamics plugin and grab it before it gets taken down permanently. 7211a4ac4a
