One last thing, I didn't see the line where you claim that Murray and Coppola were joined by an ex-girlfriend of Murray's who is now married to an ex-girlfriend of Coppola's. I don't think that was their story. That kind of coincidence is too far fetched for me. I think it was simply a line of dialogue that Coppola liked and said he would come back to in the sequel to Lost in Translation. I think it's just Murray's way of infusing some humor into what was otherwise a serious film.
Murray and Coppola would go on to collaborate on a second film, The Brothers McMullen (2005). The former half of the film, in which he portrays a Russian immigrant in New York City, would include a cameo by Bill Murray, who played the role of a construction worker.[85] Coppola and Murray's third collaboration, The Bling Ring (2013), would be a success at the box office. While initially set up as a comedy, the film was largely a social commentary, and was well-received by critics.[86]
===TV appearances===
Murray has made several appearances on television shows. He made a cameo appearance as himself in the episode of Comedy Central's animated series Robot Chicken in which an English translation of Monty Python and the Holy Grail was dubbed in Japanese and broadcast on the Fox network. In February 2007, he made an appearance on the NBC late-night comedy program Saturday Night Live in character as Mr. William S. Murray, a parody of himself in the film. Murray appeared in the first episode of the sitcom Monk 827ec27edc
