I know this is an old post but I just figured I would share my experience with Cool Edit Pro 2.0. I have been using this product for about a month now and what a difference, it just sounds better than any other music software I have used in the past. I use it for hip-hop, pop, country, etc. I do not have this product on a wide scale just yet as I would be interested in hearing how it performs in a large scale project because that's what I am always doing in the studio. I know this is a long shot but I would like to know how it would perform in a large scale project, just so I can see if it would stand up under the task. I am really looking forward to using this program because it really does have some very promising attributes and I hope it continues to be supported in the future.
try out the free trial edition. I paid the money and I can say it worth the money. I also needed to convert all my songs to wave format in order to import them into cool edit. This was no problem at all thanks to lo-fi tracker. When I was finished the music sounded better than any music I had worked on before.
I am absolutely amazed at how much sound editing power this program offers. I have to say it really does make a difference when all the other programs I have used in the past have been lacking. I really do like this program and I believe it will be a permanent part of my workflow. I would recommend this product to anybody on a budget. The only downfall is the less than user-friendly interface. But hey, it is the way it is I guess. Overall, I think this program is a real winner and I am quite happy with it.
