Many companies who receive payments from NYS DSS checks now also receive remittance advice forms, in addition to the invoice. This is a good thing, and it saves time and money, but the form that you will receive now will include all of the information required for both the invoices and the remittance advice. The SFS Remittance Advice template is a good place to start, which has been updated recently to include the time and date fields which are required for both forms.
The system is also not set up to merge information about refunds with invoices, so those will still need to be processed separately. For refunds, there will need to be an additional step to process the refund, and the refund form in the system will be a separate page from the remittance advice form.
